The Business of Weddings
Three Wedding Quotes, Three Different Weddings
Before deciding which supplier is expensive, check whether everyone has priced the same brief.
A simple supplier comparison starts with the scope: coverage, staffing, delivery, setup and the details hidden behind a headline price.

One florist has included setup. Another has priced collection from the studio. A photographer has quoted six hours; another has included the whole reception. The totals look comparable until you notice they describe different days.
Give everyone the same starting point
Prepare one short brief with the date, location, event timings, approximate guest count and the service you need. Mark uncertain details as uncertain. If your plans change, update the suppliers you are comparing so they can respond to the same version.
Separate essentials from extras you are curious about. That lets a supplier explain the core service and price optional additions without guessing which version of the wedding you want.
Compare the work, not just the total
For each quote, record what is included, what is excluded, the staffing or coverage period, setup and collection arrangements, and the deliverables. Ask whether the quoted amount includes applicable taxes and the travel or delivery needed for your location.
Photography might turn on hours and delivery. Catering may depend on the service format and facilities. Decor can involve installation and removal as much as the objects themselves. A single price-per-guest column cannot explain every supplier.
Ask what changes the price
Useful questions are specific: what if the finish time moves, the guest count changes or another location is added? Ask for the provider’s process for revised quotes and approval of extra work. Keep the answers with the quote so you can revisit them together.
Payment schedules, cancellation terms and responsibilities deserve attention before you book. Ask the supplier to explain anything unclear in writing; obtain appropriate independent advice where you need it. This article is an organisational guide, not a review of any particular contract.
Choose for fit as well as cost
A cheaper service that omits something essential may not be the cheaper way to deliver your plan. Equally, an elaborate package can contain things you do not need. The aim is a clear match between the work, your priorities and the amount you are prepared to spend.
Explore the vendor directory and planning tools. For a starting estimate for a South Asian multi-event celebration, try the budget calculator; it is not a supplier quote.
